TV Crime Drama commentary 
This term in media we have been study various things such as creating weebly sites making them to the best of our ability. We also learnt about the different types of genres and why people are attracted to particular ones. Every film that is made is categorized by it's rules and conventions. These rules and conventions give the film a genre for example star wars [robots, aliens, space these conventions make the film science fiction. We watched out of control which was produced by the bbc. Out of control was a TV crime drama that influenced young teenagers to stop crime. It was very eye opening and educated a lot of people. The drama is about young teenagers that live on a estate that get into serious trouble by the police, in the end they all go to prison for a period of time but only Danny comes out and turns is life around. Dean the youngest of them all got into trouble with the other prisoners and later on decided to commit sucide. His mum was very upset and has tried to get on with her life ever since. We also watched the wire which was an American crime drama we studied this to see the difference between American and British crime dramas. There were many similarities such as the slang language,themes and conventions. We watched a second American crime drama called NYPD blue which was more of a detective drama rather than it being about teenagers.

BBC is a popular programme it does not only entertain they also share world news and important information around the world. It being a British channel does not affect them being popular to other countries across the world. It also has many radio stations which is another  source of media. The bbc is funded by the British public. The reason why they choose to do cracking crime is beacause they felt it was time to talk about crime in Britain because crime rate has risen. The bbc engage with their audience by using various media sources such as radio shows, weather and world news etc.

We also studied the different realsim between hollywood and television. I personally felt that Hollywood films are over rehearsed and dont feel as comfortable when acting. When it's on tv it looks more believeble because the story builds up each episode if its on tv but when its hollywood everything happens in that short amount of time. It being a series gives you more of an understanding. The definition of realsim is creating  a world in which we can believe in, the six pointers are:
Plausabilty of story events (could the story be real)
The believabilty of characters(is this how we would act)
The realtionship of the story to the plot
The logic of the story and events
The presentation of the film space
The veritstimtude (how convincing are the surface details)

Out of control is a crime drama that was produced by the bbc. Out of control was about 4 teenagers called Dean,Danny,Sam and Charllie-boi. Out of the four Dean was the mummy's boy and would always want to please his mum. His mum warned him many times but he didn't listen he still hanged around with the wrong crowd. Sam was the worst out of the four he wasn't loved by his mum and dad so he tunred to crime. Charlie-boi was useless,waste of space he lenjoyed getting people into trouble he also wasnt a good friend to Dean. Sam and Danny both got arrested in their homes for robbery,Danny's mum was very shooked. Dean and charlie both stole a car and got chased by the police but only Dean got caught. All three got sent down for a long period of time. Dean and Sam didn't get along so Sam decided to bully him for a long time it got to a point were Dean couldnt handle it and decided to take his own life. Out of control was made to send out a message to the teenagers because what happened in out of control happenes in real life to.This make the drama a social realist becuase it influences the youth.

I think that the drama was realistic because the drama realates to youth today.The consequences that the youth faced in out of control happen in real life aswell. I felt that the characters were very natural and comfortable because they had the chance to speak like they would to their friends. The fact that it was played in modern london made it more believeble. The familes that were being played were single parents which was realistic  because its changed dramticly during the years. I think it was chosen for bbc cracking drama day because it send out a message to the youth today in london.

I also had to complete a script called in control which was continued from out of control. I changed the storyline up abit to make it more intersting. The twist to my storyline is that Monique has a baby which is not Danny's..Danny finds out.

I also had to make a DVD cover for my script on photo-shop which was difficult because im not use to it.All images had to be from me and not from the internet.The background layer was black but i covered it up with text and images.I have learnt alot from media studies,i learnt how to create a dvd cover which i would of never been able to do if i had not of chosen media.
